Thank you for considering Silver Spring Personal Care Home for your loved one! We would be honored to have you stop by our home to discover if it would be a good fit for your family.
At Silver Spring, we believe in caring for your loved ones with the compassion and respect they deserve, just as we would do for our loved ones. In addition to our senior care home’s permanent residents, we also focus on giving caregivers a pause in their duties with our short-term respite care stays.
We know that caring for your senior parent or elderly family member is a labor of love. We also know that it can sometimes be overwhelming, draining, and exhausting. Whether you are stretched thin with other responsibilities, taking care of multiple generations, or just need a little bit of time to yourself, we would be more than happy to help care for the senior in your life with our temporary respite care services.
Our Respite Care Gives Seniors New Opportunities
We offer our short-term guests the same services that our senior care residents have available to them 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition to those offerings, our respite care guests have the opportunity to make connections with our other residents and our compassionate staff.
The best way to enjoy a stay (while creating those new friendships) is to experience all the social activities we offer:
Movie nights in our cozy common areas
Music and performances for entertainment
Fitness and movement classes that are age and strength appropriate
Arts and crafts to share your creativity with others
Board games, card games, and other table top games
Cable television to watch with residents
Wifi to search the internet and to communicate with family and friends
Restaurant-quality breakfast, lunch, and dinner with additional snacks and beverages available throughout the day - making it easy to meet up with other residents and socialize
Making Connections During Respite Care Positively Impacts Mental Well-Being
Social connections help everyone be their best, but as our elderly population ages, they often spend more time alone. And while we know you’d like to be there as much as your loved one’s needs require, sometimes you just can’t be. When your parent or family member is at Silver Spring Personal Care Home, they have the opportunity to meet and connect with others their age with similar interests and life experiences.
Those senior friendships go a long way! Establishing and maintaining relationships is important to the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of our loved ones. Our short-term guests can make friends at any of our social activities, within our beautiful community areas, and in our outdoor courtyards. The friendships they make while they’re here don’t have to stop after their stay with us! Our guests are always welcome to come back and visit to maintain their new connections. Maybe they’ll love their new friendships so much, they’ll want to join us as a long-term resident! And of course, we can help with that transition.
